The Artillery Tower

Durnford St, Plymouth PL1 3QR, UK – 01752 257610

This restaurant is our favourite place to eat in Plymouth. the staff are fantastic and the food is just the best for miles.

Unique setting, small but sophisticated. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for a special occasion.

Goto Japanese Restaurant

13 Southside St, Plymouth PL1 2LA, UK – 01752 228826

Lovely little sushi place. The sushi here is some of the best I've ever had, definitely best in Plymouth. Not just the sushi but the other dishes too. We've been a few times and found the quality is outstanding on quiet nights but not as good on busy nights.

Fish was fresh, best were seared mackerel nigiri and tempura crab roll, yum!! Miso and ginger didn't disappoint (as quality markers). Aesthetics are appealing. Nothing food-wise was off. I could make out the different flavors of the ingredients in the rolls. Minus one star for the very loud music (ok it was maybe local flavor but it kept startling us) and the price-a bit steep.

Lanterns Restaurant

88 Cornwall St, Plymouth PL1 1LR, UK – 01752 665516

what a lovely experience from start to finish. friendly helpful staff who make you feel really welcome. then there's the food!!! we loved it. will definitely be returning.

Had a brilliant evening there for a birthday celebration. The food was excellent and good value for our money and the staff were really good, nothing was to much trouble and they did it all with a sense of humour. We will look forward to a return visit.

Best Reviewed Indian Restaurants and Takeaways in Plymouth Business or in Plymouth area

Everest Spice

The Hoe, 14 Athenaeum St, Plymouth PL1 2RH, UK – 01752 661895

Found this restaurant by accident and booked on the off chance. So glad we did. Friendly staff, prompt service, excellent food. What more could you ask for . The Lamb Momo is well worth a try.

Had another lovely meal from Everest spice, lots of flavour, good portions and great staff! Will definitely be back!

The Spice Well

18 Buckwell St, Plymouth PL1 2DA, UK – 01752 226333

Inexpensive, friendly Indian restaurant I visit about once a month. Service is efficient and the cuisine is always first rate. There's an extensive menu available so for someone who likes to try a different dish each time, this is a very good choice.

Great friendly family run restaurant. Food was cooked fresh and was one of the best Indian meals we've had in a long time.

The Eastern Eye

57 Notte St, Plymouth PL1 2AG, UK – 01752 262948

Having dined at quite a few curry restaurants this must be the best curry house in Plymouth. Visited tonight and yet again food was freshly prepared and cooked; homemade sauces and recipes; plenty of choice. Would recommend to anyone who appreciates great tasting curry and quality. You really do get what you pay for and worth every penny... Amazing. Lovely attentive staff. What a wonderful end to our day.

The curry and service was absolutely fantastic ive never tasted a better chicken dansak in my life, however the size of the restaurant and the way the staff move around you while trying to enjoy a meal is on the extreme side of annoying. I also tried to order a small bottle of Cider and I ended up with a big one, dont know why as it said on the menu that they had small bottles so i ended up paying for a big bottle which was very expensive but nice.

Best Reviewed Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

Barbican Pasta Bar

40 Southside St, Plymouth PL1 2LE, UK – 01752 671299

This place is nothing special to look at but is in a lovely location just a stones throw from the fishing boats on the harbour. The food was really nice and they also sell tribute real ale which is a favourite of mine. The service was prompt and everybody was really polite so if you combine that with reasonable prices I would recommend this place.

Yummy food it really does taste home cooked! Lunch menu is great value and the choices are extensive. Will certainly eat here again.

Positano

36-38 Mayflower St, Plymouth PL1 1QX, UK – 01752 661290

I had a sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce. It just melted in my mouth. I love Italian food and as far as I know this restaurant is the only traditional Italian restaurant in Plymouth. Great food great price. 1st class. Very friendly

Fantastic food. Small, family run restaurant. Seems to be about eight generations here. Decor not updated since 1980s - they haven't needed to - the food is that good that it's packed out every night of the week. Friendly, welcoming, low key, delicious.

Il Capriccio

4 Frankfort Gate, Plymouth PL1 1QD, UK – 01752 941502

All food made daily on site and then to order. We struggle to eat anywhere else when in Plymouth. However, to set expectations, we'd describe it as a cafe with excellent food rather then a restaurant with poor decor.

Love this place. My favourite..tuna and onion pizza is the best pizza I have ever had. I'm addicted to and keep on going back to this lovely restaurant!

Bar Rakuda

11 Quay Rd, Plymouth PL1 2JZ, UK – 01752 221155

Quite understaffed behind the bar, takes a very long time to get served. Understandably busy on a Saturday night, groups of people often need to move chairs in the outside seating area so why we got shouted at for trying to move two chairs that were not being used is beyond me! Probably the least enjoyable part of our evening.

Lovely service. Decided I would like to try a gin, first time. Asked the waitress for recommendations. Very helpful and the Pink Gin was divine. Our fish and chips were so filling and very tasty.

Revolution Plymouth

1, Derrys Cross, Plymouth PL1 2SW, UK – 01752 666138

Utterly Impressed I visited this place for the first time. Utterly impressed with the service, the lady who served me was very welcoming & professional. I believe her name is Charlotte. Had one of the beef & bacon burgers with chilli chips, absolutely delicious 👌🏽 Highly recommend.

Nice interior. Good atmosphere. Good food.

The Dairy

25 Bretonside, Plymouth PL4 0BH, UK – 01752 319067

Great drinks selection but it was soooooo damn warm in there.

Lovely cocktails great meeting point to start a night out. A little pricey and small and can be quiet but that's why it's good to start here and good atmosphere

Plymouth Chinese Restaurants

Wet Wok

75 Hoe Rd, Plymouth PL1 3DE, UK – 01752 664456

Food tasted really good, you could tell that most of the things are freshly made. Service was ok, we had everything we needed, however waiters seemed to be a bit "robotic" and not so engaging. The view was amazing!!! All in all, we had a good experience and will definitely be coming back.

Good food, but we couldn’t get a seat near the window as you usually have to book 2 weeks in advance

Fortune Court

9 Tin Ln, Plymouth PL4 0AD, UK – 01752 668288

A lovely authentic Chinese restaurant that strays away from the typical 'all you can eat' Chinese buffets by offering freshly prepared dishes via table service for only a fraction more cost than the buffets elsewhere in the city. Friendly, helpful staff that helped advise which dishes were suitable for food allergy sufferers and you can bring your own wine for just £1.50 corkage. The food was delicious

Hands down the best all you can eat Chinese restaurant in Plymouth. As everything is cooked to order, the food isn't left out in buffet trays under lamps and is much fresher. You can also take your own wine and only get charged £1.50 for corkage, which is a nice bonus.

Authentic Sichuan Restaurant

112 Cornwall St, Plymouth PL1 1NF, UK – 01752 229585

Ever wanted to see how actual Chinese food taste like? Wait no more! Stop ordering Chinese food online and try this. The actual care they put when cooking just joy your taste buds and your soul :)

Was recommended this restaurant as one of the best places to eat in Plymouth . After being here I'll extend that statement to say that it IS the best place to eat in Plymouth, if you take into consideration the freshness of the food, the price of the food , the service provided and obviously the food itself. This isn't your usual restaurant, it's not just traditional or authentic in a twisted western world sort of way. It is actually authentic so do not be surprised by some of the meals on offer if they sound strange. The menu is easy to read and the staff are at hand to help, they lowered the spice heat of the dishes to account for my mum who isn't a Hot Food person. If you love food then drop everything and go here. After this you will not be ordering from Chinese takeaway s as they pale in comparison and price value.

Plymouth Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Mr Wok

10 Drake Circus, Plymouth PL4 8AQ, UK – 01752 265400

Best Pad Thai I've ever tried and their bubble tea is great too. The décor makes you feel like you've fallen into another world. And it's cheap!

Very small tight space but the delicious food covers that all and worth more than that. I had Thai peanut curry with prawns and home-made matcha cheesecake for pudding. They were really reasonably priced and service was lightening quick. This place is more like an Asian food stall than restaurant, but if you understand that the food worth every penny.

Samphire Brasserie

111 Mayflower St, Plymouth PL1 1SD, UK – 01752 263116

The menu is incredibly creative. The food has so much flavour! Absolutely everything is vegan and they have a lot to choose from. It might be not the healthiest restaurant but definitely worth to visit. They sell deserts so you can take them home: cookies, cheesecakes.. you name it. You can also find some homemade mozzarella, the consistency and flavour is so similar to the real thing! Even non vegans will enjoy the visit.

I love this place! Super friendly staff. Great vegan food. The most delicious vegan cakes

Kapadokya Restaurant

12 New St, Plymouth PL1 2NA, UK – 01752 669686

A little gem in the back streets of the Barbican. Went in for a mid week evening meal and was well looked after. Authentic Turkish cuisine from an independently owned family restaurant. Reasonably priced and I was very pleased with my food and drinks. I will certainly try and get back for another visit so if you are in Plymouth and like Turkish food and drink, perhaps to revisit one of those med holiday evenings, I'd recommend giving Kapadokya a try.

Absolutely delicious. Massive portions . Friendly staff. A great all round meal will definitely go back

Treasury Bar

Catherine St, Plymouth PL1 2AD, UK – 01752 672121

Lovely staff. It was a wedding reception and breakfast. The top room was very hot, but you can blame the weather! The food was good too!

Lovely building, good gins and food. Vegan options available. Within the city centre for shopping and attentive staff on our visit

This is the union rooms in Plymouth Devon England UK. It is the central and most popular venue for families children are safe. It is owned by the national chain Wetherspoon it has a ground floor first floor and second floor. Their is family areas the food menu is excellent the wine and beer menu up market. State of the art security system. A beer garden with a pond with fish. ( carp) tall palm trees surrounding the garden. It is open until 3.00 am Fridays and Saturdays. Their is a DJ who has a state of the art sound system and their is a dance floor. Up to date facilities for people with disabilities. It has a wheel chair lift.

Great place for food and drink. Good for a night out too as they convert the restaurant area into a dance floor. If it's a hot summers day then go here for cocktails out in the sun in their garden area. Would be a higher rating if the customer service was better. I've been here countless of times and it's never been top notch.

Walkabout

5 Union St, Plymouth PL1 2SU, UK – 01752 825650

Went to watch Russia vs Spain here during the world cup with my Spanish friends. A great place to watch sport (obviously). Alot of fun to get involved and support with others. Tables were a bit sticky and unfortunately/sadly the coffee machine wasn't working at the time. I did enjoy my ginger beer with rum! My friends did not enjoy the loss against Russia..

Highly recommend, quick & efficient service. Very friendly manager who served us. The food was fantastic, fresh, hot & very tasty. We will be back!
