Cyclestreets.net is a brilliant little website for bicyclists. Just enter where you are and where you want to go and it will take you a proper cyclists route, tell you the distance, how quiet or otherwiseit will be and how many calories you will burn completing it.
This is extraordinary. You can actually choose a route to avoid unnecessary hills. Excellent for the part-time cyclist!

The Dogs Wheels Bike Shop

Unit 56-57, Faraday Mill Business Park, Faraday Rd, Plymouth PL4 0ST, UK – 01752 674646

Thought I'd finally leave a review after countless visits! Won't take my bikes anywhere else. Prices to rival the online stores, customer service unrivalled by anyone. Excellent range of gear in stock and will order in anything you need if they don't have it. I've also had plenty of help and advice (not to mention great conversation) without getting my wallet out on occasion. Highly recommended, whether you're a complete novice or a full on bike nut.

Definitely worth travelling a little bit further for a shop this professional, well stocked and honest

Excellent service today from the mechanics. I had an issue with the front and rear mechs and Tom sorted the issue there and then. Can’t fault today’s service whatsoever! Cheers guys

Great service and very pleased with purchase, the staff at the Plymouth branch were as helpful as they could possibly be. 10/10

Rockets and Rascals

7 Parade, Plymouth PL1 2JL, UK – 01752 927555

This was the best discovery during a two day break in Plymouth, the place is just so damn cool! I was able to take my bike in and leave it in a rack by the counter, lots of tables, friendly staff, tasty food and great smoothies and then there's the coffee, that's really good. My only wish is I could magically transport the whole place home with me, truly worth a visit on many levels.

Coffee/deli review only: coffee (espresso macchiato) was spot on and at a reasonable price. Food from the deli case (chicken tarragon pie and a sandwich) was surprisingly good. Awesome terrace area on a sunny day. Plenty of citrus infused water for the thirsty customer.

Friendly staff both downstairs and up in the bike floor, greeted on the way in by staff on both floors, busy bike mechanics took time out of their day to help with a problem with bike, i still couldnt fix it myself so brought it in a week later again friendly atmosphere and they sorted my bike in 20 mins also left the bike with them while i carried on shopping.

Always helpful, although quite high prices.
